Training and socializing newly adopted dogs

For people who have adopted an adolescent or adult dog from a shelter, we can help you get a right start. We help your dog be comfortable with the sights, sounds, and objects they encounter at the new home and out in the city. And we train basic behaviors to help you show your new dog what you want.

Often a new dog shows signs of being hesitant or fearful that may seem confusing to dog parents and go unnoticed. We show you how to read your dog’s unique body language, so you know what to look for and what to do to improve experiences for both of you.

Basic behaviors may include:
  • Crate training
  • Management in the home
  • Loose leash walking
  • Coming when called
  • Sit, Down, Stand
  • Stay, Wait
  • Rollover
Behavior problems may include
  • Pulling on leash
  • Jumping up on people
  • Barking and lunging during walks
  • Scared of doorways, elevators or other stuff
  • Over the top play
